We enjoyed a visit recently from QQQ, an avant-Norwegian-fiddle-folk-band. Band leader Dan Trueman plays a traditional Hardanger fiddle, distinctive for its inlays, carvings and resonant strings that give it a full and often haunting sound. Here’s a "behind-the-scenes" video from NPR's Studio 4A as the group warmed up for the broadcast recording.

The band Blind Pilot literally rode a pair of bicycles to success. The folk-pop outfit, formed by singer-guitarist Israel Nebeker and drummer Ryan Dobrowski, has taken two bike tours, playing its music all along the West Coast. Watch them perform the song 'The Story I Heard' in NPR’s DC recording studio.
