Handy35 PL Lens and Canon FD Lens HV-20 Tests

For contrast I also tested using my Canon FD mount lenses. The camera and lens settings are on the bottom of each screen. Note that F stop is manual for the PL’s and the Canon HV-20 internal exposure is all the way up for these so that there is not flash adjust as the manual stop is changed. Worked very well. Exposure is in HV-20 for the Canon FD's. You will probably agree that the Canon FD's look better overall. I attribute this to the small 16mm focus plane thrown by the PL's and the need to zoom so much tighter on it to gain the image. On something like a RED camera this should not be an issue because the high res sensor allows the full image to be carved out at a superior resolution without light loss from the adapter etc. Still, the PL's will have a place in my shooting.
