A 5-year-old boy who was mauled by a pit bull in Coraopolis is in stable condition in the critical care unit of Children’s Hospital after undergoing surgery. Tyler Williams was attacked by the dog when he and his aunt went to feed her boyfriend's pit bull in the backyard. Tyler's face was horribly mauled. The male pit bull was kept chained in the fenced yard of the house on Birch Way.

Pit bull kills 2 year old toddler

A two-year-old boy was killed after suffering a dog bit in Luling Texas. Police arrived at the home on N. Hackberry Street after receiving a call of a dog bite and discovered the boy. A female pit bull was also found in the back yard. The preliminary investigation revealed that the boy suffered injuries that were consistant with suffering dog bites. Police are interviewing family members that were at the residence. The dog has been impounded by the city animal control officer for examination ...

Albemarle County Police are investigating a pit bull attack in which a small dog was mauled and killed in the Woodlake neighborhood Thursday. Police are still trying to confirm which pit bull mauled an elderly woman's beloved pet. They say the owner could be charged with owning a dangerous dog. "I heard Shelby scream and I heard Bev scream Faye, Faye help me," said next door neighbor and friend Faye Cason. Cason says she saw a large dark pit bull mauling her friend's tiny dog, Shelby. "She [Shelby's owner] had managed to get Shelby out of his jaws. I had on some heavy walking shoes and I just kept kicking the dog and kicking the dog and finally I kicked it under its chin and it let out a yelp and ran up the hill," said Cason. Cason rushed Shelby and her friend Beverley to the animal hospital. "She was so mangled she looked like a mangled bloody rag," said Cason. It was too late. "They did everything to save her, but she died 15 minutes later," said Cason. The two and a half pound Pomeranian died from a puncture wound to the heart. "That little dog was her life and soul," said Cason. Faye's not sure, but thinks the attacker is one of two Pit Bulls that live in this house. She says neighbors have been terrified of the dogs since the family moved there less than a year ago. "They claw and claw on the back gate," said Cason. She says she knows of another dog in her Woodlake neighborhood that was bitten by a pit bull and a cat that was also killed. We asked Faye, 'What should happen to the dog?' and she said, "It should be put down." Any decision to put down the dog would ultimately be up to the dog's owner. We should also tell you some neighbors off camera did tell us the pit bulls in question, are good gentle dogs. And as for how the pit bull got lose, neighbors believe someone accidentally left the gate open. -Lisa Ferrari

artesia police are investigating jason shirey after he shot and killed a neighbors pit bull-- he says when it came down to it... he didn’t have a choice. "my daughter is 4 years old, and i told her, you do not go outside without mom or dad." jason shirey warned his little girl after his neighbor's pit bulls broke into his yard on saturday. "i can't have those dogs, i have two small children, i can't have those dogs getting into my yard." shirey says his family was finishing breakfast sunday morning when his daughter went outside to feed their family's dogs — "and when i heard the front door open, i just panicked." shirey looked out the door and saw the same pit bulls were in the yard again -- just feet away from his daughter. "i didn't think about nothin'." "i saw the dog, grabbed my daughter, shoved her back inside and shut the door." but shirey's two dogs -- pup and moose were still outside... he grabbed his shotgun. "i looked around the corner and the male pitbull came charging at me and i shot him." the shot killed the dog -- and that certainly isn't sitting well with the dog's owner who finds shirey's story hard to believe. "my dogs, i raised them to be good. i know people think pit bulls are real violent, but my dogs are good."
