The Kaviyoor rock cut temple at Thrikkakudy in Kaviyoor village of Pathanamthitta district is the oldest cave temple in Kerala. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple has a 3 ft high Sivalinga in the square sanctum sanctorum. There are figures of Chathurbhuja Ganapathi (Lord Ganapathi with four hands) and a Bhikshu on the walls of the temple. The temple belonging to the later half of the 8th century AD is preserved as a protected monument by the State Archaeological Department. The nearby Hanuman temple located on a hillock is noted for its architectural beauty and is a famous pilgrim centre.

In a series of charming towns, visitors will encounter the Lenca people ? one of the largest indigenous groups in Honduras. A great gateway to the route is the town of Gracias, home to colonial churches, a Lenca museum, historical fort, and a Farmer?s Market where the Lenca people sell their vegetables and pottery.
