Restaurant & Market at Mall of America welcome the Third Annual Bubba Gump’s Re-Building Block Party, February 28, 2009 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., in Sears Court at Mall of America. Neighborhood House to fight hunger at Mall of America

In an effort to raise money and awareness on fighting hunger, Neighborhood House staff and volunteers will be at Mall of America July 25 to educate guests about the growing issue. There will be several educational displays including 2,600 lbs of food - the approximate amount of food the Neighborhood House Food Shelf distributes each day. This morning President Armando Camacho joined us with details. Providing services to more than 10,000 participants annually, Neighborhood House is a multi-cultural, multi-lingual center with programs in basic needs, education and youth leadership. Bubba Gump Co. carves for kids

Mark Williams with the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. joined us this morning with details on the sixth annual Carving for Kids, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event is Tuesday, October 27. Carving begins at 11:30 a.m. (following MOA's Toddler Tuesday Costume Contest) and the live auction begins at Noon. You can find the fun at the Best Buy Rotunda at Mall of America. All carved pumpkins will be auctioned with other "add-ons" including restaurant gift certificates, sporting event tickets, golf outings, IPods, music certificates, autographed merchandise, and more.

World’s Largest Indoor Trick-or-Treat at MOA

Families are invited the World’s Largest Indoor Trick-or-Treat at Mall of America. This morning MOA's Erin Sheppard gave us preview. The Anaphylaxis & Food Allergy Association (AFAA) is sponsoring the Allergy-Free Zone located in Macy's Court. Families and kids with or without allergies are invited to enjoy Mad Science demonstrations and non-food treats for all ages. Other trick-or-treating families can start out in the Best Buy Rotunda where little ghosts and goblins can show off their imaginative attire in the costume contest. Prizes will be awarded to the top three costumes based on creativity and originality. Other entertainment includes a magician and spooky animal show. After the festivities, trick-or-treaters can visit more than 200 retailers to gather some sweet treats. Treat bags will also be given away in Nordstrom Court.
