But the San Diego Sierra Club supported the sewage waver last time, too; at the same time, the Angeles Chapter was critically helpful in defeating the Orange County sewage waiver. But really, the Sierra Club supporting sewage waiver??

Bats and the Sierra Club

Barotrauma is what is causing the extremely painful deaths of bats when they encounter the sudden drop in air pressure in the wake of the spinning blades of industrial scale wind turbines. Bats have been found on the ground around turbines, still alive but bleeding from their mouths and noses. The Sierra Club pushes wind energy in spite of this. They believe the deaths of bats and birds are a fair trade for a reduction in green house gases though there is no study anywhere which shows that industrial scale wind turbines have had any impact at all in reducing green house gases. To date, not a single fossil fuel burning plant has been taken off line because of wind turbines. They cannot function without fossil fuel burning plants, which is one of the reasons power companies like wind energy. It keeps us grid dependent and power company dependent. All other renewable energy options reduce the power company's customer base. Please contact the Sierra Club and ask them how they feel about the recent reports of massive bat deaths due to wind turbines. Ask them how they feel about barotrauma and bats.
