The Yankees opened their new stadium in the Bronx on April 18th, 1923. A crowd of over 74,000 packed the legendary park for the first game between the Yankees and the Boston Red Sox, where Babe Ruth’s three-run homer in the third inning helped give the Yankees a 4-1 victory.
