Sunday, November 16th 2008. Luca’s first day home... It has been a year now, since we've adopted Luca. We fell in love with him the instant we saw him. We adopted him from PAWS. Our neighborhood (Greenwood, in Seattle) has a PAWS adoption center called Cat City, and we always stop by to look at the cats & kittens. On that particular day, there were loads of kittens, of all variety. We saw Luca sprawled out on the floor like a good fluffy boy. We told ourselves that we didn't need another cat, though it would have been nice for Chloe to have a buddy. We walked away and about 2 minutes later we decided we had to go back and meet him. *lol*. Thankfully he wasn't already adopted, as most of the kittens in there had been already. He sort of sneaked out of the room where he was supposed to be, and hid in another room. We took this as another sign. He let us hold him and we was so affectionate and lovable instantly. Everyone else in the adoption center suddenly noticed him and they seemed regretful that they didn't notice him before we did, he he. I am so glad he chose us! Like Chloe, Luca was found abandoned with his siblings. A foster mother had taken them in and eventually surrendered the kittens to the cat shelter. His former name was Yellow Ranger. He was really sick upon surrender. His foster mother attached a note to our adoption papers. "Yellow Ranger came into my foster home with his 3 siblings at about 2 weeks of age after they were orphaned. He just loves to cuddle, while his 3 borthers are romping all over the room, he makes sure that he is getting petted and kisses in your lap first. He will bond really closely with his person (people). Have fun with this sweetheart." ~Nanci J. We are blessed we can give Chloe & Luca such good homes and that they have each other. They are the pride & joy of our lives. Luca is a stellar cat. He is the most sweetest & affectionate cat we've both ever had. He loves attention, kisses, and to be loved. Snowmobile Hillclimb events are dangerous, not just for the racers but also for the spectators and hill workers. Here a rider at the Copper Peak Hillclimb goes off course and his sled slides back down the hill, but runs over a course worker on the way down!
