Vera Miles guest-stars in the title role of "Barbara Who," a tender love story about a beautiful woman who falls in love with the paraplegic Chief Ironside. A nurses' aide known as Barbara who was assigned to Ironside’s case when he was wounded, tells him that someone has tried to kill her. Barbara has been an amnesia victim since suffering a severe beating by unknown persons and the motive for the murder attempt is difficult to find. Chief Ironside begins a painstaking search for Barbara's identity. Inspired by Ironside's personal courage in adversity, Barbara, who has fallen in love with him, begs him to abandon the search for her identity, fearing what her past may reveal. But because of her imminent danger, Ironside continues, realizing he may be destroying his own happiness.
