The Latin Jivers started in the early 1980s in the northwest neighborhood of Humboldt park. The Jivers were started on the corner of Rockwell and Potomac. The Latino Stars, an Oldskool Chicago gang has history that goes as far back as the 1960s maybe even the 1950s. The Stars had sets within Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods on the north side of Chicago. By the early 1980s high ranking members of the Latino Stars were incarcerated which crippled the gang's operations severly. The Stars decided to disband the crew entirely. The Latino Stars had a heavy presence on the corner of Pierce and Paulina. Many older members retired while the younger Stars from Wicker Park chose to become Latin Jivers; However, some Stars become Harrison Gents or Milwaukee Kings. Soon the corner of Pierce and Paulina (Baller Side) became Jiver neighborhood. In the early 80s the Jivers had a presence from Augusta to North Ave/California to Rockwell: Crystal and Washtenaw; Washtenaw and Division. Members attended Clemente H.S and Von Humboldt Grade School. In the early 1980s the Latin Jivers joined the Folk Nation and befriended such gangs as: YLOs and ULOs, Spanish Cobras, Maniac Latin Disciples, Imperial Gangsters, Harrison Gents, Ashland Vikings, Gangsters Disciples, and Orchestra Albanies, and many other Folks. The Latin Jivers also established the pitchfork as one of their gang symbols in the early 80s as many Folks did. The Jivers began to fight with many of the neighboring gangs such as the Latin Kings, Insane Unknowns, Vice Lords, Warlords, and Spanish Lords, and other various People Nation gangs. The definition of Jiver is a deceiver or hustler which the Jivers primarily focused on in the early days. In 1990 the Latin Jivers joined the Maniac Familia that was created by the Maniac Latin Disciples. All throughout the early 90s the Jivers were in the Maniac alliance, being originally called Maniac Latin Jivers. Then by the mid-90s the Jivers began to dispute wi...

Latino Street Gangs - Almighty Insane Latin Counts

The Latin Counts started in the late 50s but were not known as Latin Counts, but instead were called Sons of Mexico City. In the year 1960 they changed their name to Latin Counts because they were no longer in Mexico and they had to adjust to being in Chicago. In the early 1960s new recruits joined the gang and were called Junior Latin Counts, while the original 50s Counts called themselves Senior Counts. The Latin Counts have records that date back to 1960 as a Mexican gang that heavily recruited whites because most of Pilsen was still white in the 1960s. The Counts opened up shop in the Pilsen neighborhood on the corner of 18th and Loomis, and they still have a strong presence there. In the early 1970s the Latin Counts were accredited for starting the Bishops on the corner of 18th and Bishop as an offshoot of the Latin Counts. The Bishops and the Latin Counts soon had a solid alliance called the "BCN” (Bishop-Count nation). In the year 1978, the Latin Counts joined the People Nation and because they did the Bishops joined as well the same year. By the 1980s Counts and Bishops began to take territory in the suburb of Cicero, IL. The Counts also opened up shop in other suburbs such as Chicago Heights, West Chicago and Addison. The Counts and the Bishops soon had a dominate presence in Pilsen especially along the 18th street corridor. The Counts were also able to establish a presence in the south Chicago neighborhood as well. In the late 80s and early 90s the Counts had a reputation for aggressively invading rival gang's neighborhoods and "busting out" in rival hoods. They messed with gangs like Party People, Ambrose, and La Razas and others. The Counts were and still are known for starting gang wars. In the year 1990 Counts began to have some disputes with Latin Kings in Chicago Heights because the Latin Kings were disrespecting Latin Counts. The problem between the gangs became much worse by 1991. In 1991 the Counts killed a Latin King and started which st...

Latino Street Gangs - Almighty Ambrose

Ambrose began in the late 50s under a different name, they changed their name to "Ambrose" in the year 1960. Ambrose started in the year 1960 in the pilsen neighborhood. Upon the start up of Ambrose they soon ended up going to war with the ROYAL KINGS that also operated and started up in the Pilsen neighborhood. Eventually Ambrose was fighting with the Latin Counts in the 1960s another mexican gang just like Ambrose. Mexican immigration became a very large thing in the 1950s and 1960s and they soon started their own gangs to battle off racist white gangs in the area then they would eventually start fighting each other. Royal Kings and Ambrose fought during the 60s till Royal Kings went extinct. Ambrose has been a very slow growing organization in history, they were stricktly located in Pilsen for many years until they spread to South Chicago in about the later 80s to the 90s, and they also moved into Chicago Land suburbs and even other states such as Texas. By the early 1980s Ambrose had a presence on 26th and Kolin; 18th to 22nd/Ashland to Throop. They attended school at that time at Juarez H.S., Curie H.S., Farragut H.S., and Cooper Grade school. In 1980 Ambrose joined the Folks alliance this created a relationship with neighboring Folks gangs like: Satan Disciples, Gangsters Disciples, Racine Boys, and 26s. They battled with people nation gangs at that time right within their vicinity: Latin Counts, Kool Gang, Villa Lobos, Latin Kings, and Bishops. Ambrose did of course have other allies and enemies. Ambrose began to grow more in numbers later in the 80s into the 90s. They soon were bringing in lots of money from drug sales. Ambrose developed a very close relationship with the Two Two Boys that still exists today, they even wear the same colors Black and Baby Blue (except for the 22 boys on 22nd and California who wear the original colors and Brown and Beige). Starting in the year 1991 the Ambrose began to engage in a large scale of interalliance ...
