Hello! I’m Kristin Volk on this Monday, the 10 day of March 2008 with a UPI Headline. Millions of Americans are drinking water that contains pharmaceuticals. That's according to an investigation by the Associated Press. Small amounts of drugs like antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones have reportedly been found in two dozen metropolitan areas, ranging from southern California to Detroit, Michigan. Scientists say pharmaceuticals make their way into drinking water because people take pills, and some of the medication is absorbed while the rest is passed through. Wastewater is treated but most treatments don't remove all drug residue. Senator Barack Obama has taken the Wyoming Democratic caucus. The presidential candidate grabbed 61 percent of the vote. His rival, Senator Hillary Clinton, received 38 percent. Obama and Clinton are in a tight race to clinch the Democratic nomination and are separated by fewer than 100 delegates now. The crew of NASA's space shuttle Endeavor is making last-minute preparations before launching into space tomorrow. Those astronauts will assemble an enormous two-armed space station robot called Dextre. The 16-day mission will be NASA's longest space station trip ever and will include five spacewalks. That's the most that's ever been performed while a shuttle is docked at the station. An unofficial truce is now in place in Gaza Strip after weeks of violence between Palestinian militants and the Israeli military. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has reportedly ordered his country's forces to stop air strikes and ground raids as long as Palestinians refrain from firing rockets at Southern Israel. Olmert says his country remains committed to the peace process. More than 120 Palestinians have been killed recently by Israeli violence. That's all for now.
