Carlos Diaz serves as a correspondent for the acclaimed entertainment newsmagazine, "Extra," now in its milestone 15th season. Diaz continues to divide his time between "Extra's" headquarters in Los Angeles and its Las Vegas Bureau housed in Planet Hollywood's Resort & Casino. Diaz is on the pulse of all things celebrity - always front and center reporting the most up-to—date breaking celebrity news. Carlos Diaz joined "Extra" in 2005 as a correspondent after having spent more than a decade in news, sports and entertainment. Throughout his award-winning career, Diaz has worked in all aspects of media including television, radio, print and the Internet. Prior to joining "Extra," Diaz spent three years anchoring "Celebrity Justice," the national show of record profiling celebrities and the legal system. Before "CJ," Diaz was a host at the National Basketball Association's television network, "NBA TV." In addition, Diaz broke down basketball strategies as a feature writer for NBA.com. While interviewing the biggest names on the hardwood, Diaz also found time to sit down with the brightest stars in Hollywood, filing numerous entertainment reports for E! Entertainment Television. Diaz has anchored and reported at a number of national outlets and top stations across the country. In 1997, he became the host of ESPN's "Scholastic Sports America," a nationwide high school sports show for which he was honored with a Telly Award for his coverage of coast-to-coast prep sports. His success prompted ESPN to promote Diaz to the network's most popular show, "Sports Center." Prior to ESPN, Diaz was a sports anchor and reporter for WSVN-TV in Miami, FL. He has also spent time as a high school sports reporter for Indianapolis' NBC affiliate, WTHR-TV. Originally from Indianapolis, Diaz graduated with honors from Indiana University. He began his career as sports director for WZPL-FM. Just three months into his position, the Indianapolis Star hired him as a freelance music writer. Next, he expanded his scope and moved across town to become the news director at WRZX-FM. He still managed to satisfy his sports fix by filing sports reports for WRZX's sister station WNDE-AM. In 1996, Carlos won the Edward R. Murrow award for his coverage of the Indianapolis Colts. For the last two years, he has hosted Indianapolis's Heartland Film Festival as well as a variety of Indy 500 star-studded events. Diaz is a regular commentator/expert on a variety of network programming, including programs on CNN, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, TV Guide Channel and FOX's "Mike and Juliet Show."

Dr. Boyce Talks about Barry Bonds and Discovers a New National Holiday

In another episode of "Boiling Hot with Boyce Watkins", Dr. Watkins talks about Terrell Owens, Barry Bonds, Ron Artest, Latrell Sprewell, Jack Johnson, Michael Vick, OJ Simpson and Randy Moss. He then asks "Why is the most hated athlete in America always a black man?" He discusses how the NBA, Major League baseball and the American public play a role in the continuous disdain for the black male athlete. He also questions whether or not Barry Bonds' investigation was worth the resources used to fund it. Watkins was featured on a CBS sports special on the NCAA. The special also included Coach K from Duke University, Bill Packer, NCAA President Miles Brand, Clark Kellogg and Len Elmore. Watkins was the only person advocating for players to get paid, but every other person on the show was on the payroll of either CBS or the NCAA, all of whom stand to earn alot of money from college sports. Watkins argues that the sport is corrupt and that there should be a congressional investigation. Watkins was one of the people that helped Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton get Don Imus off the air after he referred to the Rutgers Women's basketball players as "Nappy Headed Hoes". Dr. Watkins has appeared on ESPN, CNN, BET, Fox News, CBS and other networks fighting for racial equality. He and Al Sharpton appeared on The Wendy Williams Experience in New York, and Watkins has also gotten into powerful feuds with Bill O'Reilly of Fox News (The O'Reilly Factor) and Sean Hannity of Hannity & Colmes. He has appeared with Michael Eric Dyson many times, The Rev. Jesse Jackson and other African-Americans fighting for equal rights for black people. Watkins was one of the first to bring the Jena 6 case to light in national media, and he also was the one who gave Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson the idea to attack Don Imus' corporate sponsors. It was ultimately Watkins' idea that took Imus off the air.
