1. St. Petersburg 2. Yekateringburg (site of the execution of the Tsars and near the continental border between Europe and Asia), 3. Pskov (near the Baltic) 4. Porkov (and the village of Plovdiv) 5. Kazan (capital of the Tartar region) 6. Moscow All five regions are located in the western Russia. Yekaterinburg is (barely) in eastern Russia since it is 30km on the east side of the Urals, which divide Russia east-west. Russia is the biggest country in the world and this video just covers part of the western portion, which is only 20% of the whole country. East of the Urals is a completely different Russia, the Russia that is in Asia, home of Siberia. You’ll have to wait a few years before Francis does a video of that enormous region. Francis Tapon's CDT Yo-yo - Continental Divide Trail

In 2007 Francis Tapon became the first person in history to yo-yo the CDT. This means doing a round-trip on the Continental Divide Trail. He covered nearly 6,000 miles in under 7 months.

Francis Tapon thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2001 and then had a variety of adventures before doing the Pacific Crest Trail in 2006. This video shows photos from that period. You'll see Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Hood, etc.. Thanks U2!

North California on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) - a thru-hike by Francis Tapon and Maiu Reismann

Maiu Reismann and Francis Tapon thru-hiked the PCT in 2006. Their trip started on June 23, 2006 in Canada and finished at the Mexican border on October 21, 2006. I made this video for presentations that I gave on the PCT. The music was in the background so that the audience could hear my voice. The music is meant to convey the emotions we were feeling. The reason the video stays abnormally long on some photos is that I had a long story to say about that photo. It would be more interesting if you were able to hear me narrate the slides.
