Genre: drama Philip Yordan’s stage hit Anna Lucasta posed two problems to Hollywood in 1949. For one thing, the story concerned a prostitute who is exploited by her greedy family. For another, the characters were black, thereby cutting the box-office potential in half in those racially divisive times. In adapting Anna Lucasta to the screen, Yordan and co-scripter Arthur Laurents laundered the property for popular consumption. Anna's sexual hijinks are only hinted at, and in fact an impressionable viewer might even get the idea that she's still a virgin when the film comes to an end. And the racial angle was tackled by transforming the characters into Polish-Americans, which enabled Paulette Goddard to assume the leading role. Clips from the episode 'Moondance' which is a season 3 episode of Frasier in which Niles is going on a date to the snow ball, but realises as it's a ball he'll need to dance, but doesn't know how. Daphne offers him lessons, but Niles' date cancels so he invites Daphne instead, much to Martin's dismay. Moondance was voted the best Frasier episode by British TV viewers. The third Astaire/Rogers film, a silky screen adaptation of the 1933 Broadway hit, has all that fans had some to expect from the pair's movies: a jaunty romantic plot, fabulous sets, memorable music and above all, incomparable dance magic to match the score. The most pleasant moments in Roberts, Time reported, arrive when Astaire and Rogers turn the story upside down and dance on it. Astaire may sing I Won't Dance. But his feet betray him.

Then June Allyson was signed for the role, but had to drop out when she became pregnant. Judy Garland was then signed as Ellen, but due to personal issues was fired from the film (and her MGM contract was terminated). Jane Powell ultimately replaced Garland
