This isn’t your granddad's vochoder, this piano is actually talking! (This video was much longer, with a German voice over and interviews...but, basically, the voice is recorded and the notes are mapped, and then the computer plays the piano to emulate the voice. See? science is easy!)

Finding a second bird, you could see the fire in Tomo's eyes as the desire to hunt birds began to build. She is going to be a dandy of a bird dog, and one that's not afraid to get dirty! Tomo (Lockhard's Duchess Belle) is a 3.5 month old German Shorthaired Pointer, training as a started dog at Lockhard.

On december 6th, Samichlaus (swiss santa) knocks on swiss doors and tells the kids whether they’ve been good or bad that year. Samichlaus made the long way to Brooklyn to visit our little Ella and her german speaking friends. An amusing fact about this scene: I found this swiss-german speaking santa through a call-out on twitter. Timo (twitter.com/newforms) volunteered his time and acting skills on this cold, rainy saturday night and did an amazing job. He also texted me from the diner across the street shortly before he was supposed to show up. Modern times. I love the internets.

Tomo finds a bird!

Tomo (Lockhard's Duchess Belle) found a bird in her latest training exercise. She has had previous exposure to birds, but this new exercise of finding planted birds using her nose is new, and is the beginning of a trained bird dog's realization of what their job is all about. Tomo is a 3.5 month old German Shorthaired Pointer, training at Lockhard.
