Gisele MacKenzie and Jack Benny formed an instant mutual admiration society in the early 1950’s as he assisted her in landing a starring role on the hit television series, Your Hit Parade. Gisele became a regular guest on Jack's television series and they co-starred in major night clubs and theaters across the United States with GREAT success. Gisele's manager at the time, against Gisele's wishes, let Jack know she was a classically trained violinist in addition to being one of the finest singers, pianists and dancers in the business. After that it was very rare when Gisele and Jack appeared together that they had to bring their violins! Moments like the ones in this classic video made for some of the most memorable moments in television, night clubs and conert halls history!

In the mid-1970's two pretty looney guys had their own syndicated TV comedy series. Lohman & Barkley were pretty popular and drew some interesting guests, who participated in some pretty goofy presentations. Here Gisele MacKenzie talks about perfect pitch and tells a wonderfully funny story about Jack Benny, then reveals that both her children have the measles, which lends itself to the crazy show's story line. To top it all, guest comic Gary Muledeer is depressed because he thinks his comedy routine bombed...making for even more hysteria on the set where Gisele is to sing her song, the upbeat Carpenters' hit "Sing." O brother, can TV get funny, loonier and goofier than this.

One of Television's brightest jewels, Gisele MacKenzie, invited Edie Adams to join her on "The Gisele MacKenzie Show", a live broadcast from March 22, 1958. Co-produced by Jack Benny's J&M Productions and Gisele's MLM Enterprises, Gisele's show was one of the brightest of the many musical variety shows on the air at the time! As a tribute to Edie, who passed away today, October 16, 2008, here are Gisele and Edie doing a 'marriage medley' of "It's So Nice to Have A Man Around the House" and Gisele's popular single, "It's Delightful to Be Married." Gisele and Edie would re-team in 1963 on an ABC-TV special with Sid Caesar where they'd sing a medley of old timey vaudeville styled songs. Included in this clip are the openings and closings of Gisele's show and the Schick sponsor closing. Axel Stordahl conducted the show's orchestra.

Jack and Gisele take a shortcut while driving from Phoenix to L.A., get lost, and find themselves in a cafe in a ghost town. The cafe owner tells them a story about Tombstone Harry and Cactus Kid (Benny); the sketch is very similar to the one done on November 2, 1952, with Gisele playing the saloon singer. Don Wilson, Gisele and the Sportsmen Quartet do the State Farm commercial to the tune of 'An old cowhand from the Rio Grande.
