Originally meant as a Whirl-Mart, we decided that we would fill our carts and leave them in the store. The result is obviously barely noticeable to Wal-Mart and taxing to the employees but I believe we achieved our goal. First, it is just one of many things done each year to disrupt the operation of Wal-Mart, and I believe these things add up in their books. Second, it got us the footage for this video and some publicity. The transcript for the video is as follows: Wal-Mart is efficient. Every aspect of their operation is carefully designed by experts. Their inventory systems and supply chains are nearly perfect and their stores feature almost every item one might need, conveniently laid out and easy to find. The aisles are wide and well lit, prices are low, and happy faces prevail on every sign in the store. But Wal-Mart is guilty of at least two charges that warrant protest, disruption and subversion. Firstly, Wal-Mart's efficiency makes it impossible for smaller businesses to compete. In a small town this can be devastating, driving out other businesses and leaving Wal-Mart as one of the only retail employers. On the other hand Wal-Mart consistently busts unions, underpays its workers and offers little future and meager benefits. Is this what we want our future to look like? I encourage you to stand with me against Wal-Mart. Stage protests, share your opinion and draw attention to these facts. Do everything that is legally possible to disrupt the operation of Wal-Mart, and support ethical and friendly businesses.

Pierre Paquette commented on the Supreme Court ruling on Wal-Mart Canada’s decision to shut down a unionized store.
