I wrote Travius years ago as a vehicle for an actor named Jody Wodehouse, who had been featured in several short films of mine. My goal was to come up with a premise that would lend itself naturally to one actor playing a number of different roles. (I’d read Mex Tegmark’s cover article in Scientific American about parallel earths in multiple realities around that time, so that may have inspired the approach I took.) We started filming an early version of Travius with Jody in 2003, but sadly, he died before filming could be completed. Years later, I decided to rework the story a bit and refilm it as an entry in the Sci Fi Channel/Sundance channel Exposure contest. Travius was featured online for several months in the Sci Fi Channel/Sundance Channel Exposure contest, and had its theatrical premiere in June 2007 at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival. Starring Jay Irwin and Julie Drummond. Music by Dave Green. Sound design and ADR by John Nold and Phil Thenstedt. © 2007, Nils Osmar/Wonder Productions. Travius is dedicated to Jody Wodehouse, whose versatility as an actor inspired me to write the script, and Jay Irwin, whose comic genius brought the characters to life. This is a street magic video from my trip to NYC. I went there for thanksgiving to spend some time with Jay. We decided to perform live instead of just us and the camera. Jay's live flourishing and magic will be featured in separate videos... How to approach people in NYC? First, do NOT ask them to help you to make a magic video...they will most likely refuse... ...BEST WAY: 1) Show magic in an unexpected manner ( d'lites), in other words impose yourself. 2) Ask an idle group of people if they like magic. 3) As you see people watching as they walk, tell them it's FREE magic... lol... Well, these techniques helped me and Jay to get quite some people, we wish we could share everything with you, but that would take up way too much of your time, so please enjoy this video with a little taste of my goofiness :). cheers Kate
