This is the original footage from the Jazz Elite HDV-178 hybrid camera. Shot in 720P The second video (http://vimeo.com/1016224) was ran through VirtualDub using the DeShaker plugin. The only options I set were turning on Rolling Shutter, and in Pass 2, set the Edge Compensation to Fixed Zoom (No Border).

First flight of a RC turbine jet at Flying Pilgrims RC flying field in southeastern Michigan. Video taken with Jazz Elite HDV 178 hybrid camcorder. No zoom used simply because this camera only has digital zoom.

N2 RC plane night flying with Glowire and Walmart lights

Video was taken with a Jazz Elite 178 HDV camcorder available at Walmart for $100. It is set to the default for normal daylight setting. Plane is a N2 (No Name) designed by Lmopar69 from RCgroups. Time is 20 minutes after sunset but you can see there is still some light in the west and the moon is rising in the east. Red and green glowire is attached to the top and bottom of the wing with hot glue. Power is supplied to the glowire via two 500 mah 2s lipos connected in series. Walmart finger lights ($2 each) and Walmart wedding lights (small LEDs that go in a balloon) are used to supplement the glowire. Front lights are simply a 3 LED "hat light" that is clipped to a piece of plywood glued to the nose of the plane rather than clipped to the bill of cap. For $8-12 these are a quick and easy way to provide forward lighting on an RC plane. Plane is actually easier to fly with lights when it gets completely dark, but this video shows better during this late transition to darkness. BE PATIENT FOR the close in shots to get a feel for the visibility of the plane. Video does NOT capture how easy it is to see the plane at night. Flying field is Flying Pilgrims RC club in southeastern Michigan.

This is Peter's 4 cell (two 1600 2S lipos connected in series to make the 4 cell pack). Speed is estimated at about 80 mph. Video taken with a Jazz Elite HDV 178 in high definition. Video was taken at Flying Pilgrims RC airfield in southeastern Michigan.

Just received the Phoenix M-Power Small 0.45 Magnetic Wide Angle Lens. The only camera it would fit on was the $99 Jazz Elite HDV-178. I took a cruise at night to test it out. Mounted the Jazz on a GorillaPod SLR which clung to the dash of my car. Shot in 720P. Edited with Sony Vegas. Added some color correction and motion blur.
