A few weeks before KGW went HD, they started to use the graphics that KING 5, KREM 2, KTVB 7 and NWCN uses. However a few weeks later KGW went HD and not only changed their set slightly, but changed it’s branding from Northwest NewsChannel 8 to it's current ident as KGW NewsChannel 8. This is the old opening to KGW NewsChannel 8 at 6:30 Weekend edition with former anchor Nancy Francis and Amy Troy. Nancy retired in April to become a teacher while Amy is still at KGW. This is the old opening of KGW's Northwest NewsChannel 8 at 6:30 PM weekend edition with former anchor Nancy Francis and Amy Troy from May, 2007. Nancy retired in April, 2008 to become a teacher while Amy is still at KGW NewsChannel 8 doing KGW has since reupdated their graphics matching those with KING 5, KREM 2, KTVB 7, KMOV 4 and WCNC 6 made by Giant Octopus.
