A Brief Biography http://www.petercupples.com Peter Cupples first came into prominence in 1975 as lead singer and songwriter for the blue-eyed soul band Stylus. Stylus released four albums which included such hits as 'Summer Breeze' 'World of Make/believe' 'So much Love' and 'Work out fine' to name a few. Stylus became the first all white band to be signed by U.S. Company Tamala Motown, and had moderate success internationally under the Motown banner. Stylus split in 1980 and Peter went solo achieving a top twenty with his first release 'Fear of Thunder', 'Blame it on the Weather' was also a success not only for Peter, but also for John Farnham, as a part of his return. Peter became a regular on the Midday show after doing a song called 'Happy Ending' to close the Opening of the entertainment centre in Sydney, a channel nine spectacular. Peter became a regular with all variety shows, 'Hey Hey it's Saturday' 'Tonight Live with Steve Visard' 'I.M.T'. 'G.M.A.' still today, and fifteen years of 'Carols by Candlelight' Christmas Eve at the Myer Music Bowl. Peter continues to write and record albums, he is heavily involved in certain charity's, recently writing songs for the 'Make a Wish foundation' and the 'Sacred Heart foundation'. Peter also wrote the song 'Best of the Best' for the racing hall of fame, and the kangaroo's team of the century tribute. Peter has done many main events, none bigger than opening for Frank Sinatra at sanctuary cove. This is a great product from an Australian artist who surprises, and delights us with his musical credibility, and song writing prowess. Frank Sinatra, Peter Allen, and Whitney Houston sang at the complex's lavish opening in 1988, an event that placed it squarely on the map. One of Australia's leading singer songwriters Peter Cupples was the lead singer of the 70's hit band Stylus. Fly Me to the Moon" is a pop standard song written in 1954 by Bart Howard. When introduced by Felicia Sanders on the cabaret circuit, it was originally titled "In Other Words". The song became popularly called "Fly Me to the Moon" from its first line, but it took a few years for the publishers to change the title officially. It was first recorded in 1954 by Kaye Ballard (of the television show The Mothers-in-Law). Ballard's 1954 version was released by Decca Records as catalog number 29114. In 1956 it was recorded by Portia Nelson for her album, Let Me Love You. The same year, Johnny Mathis recorded the song, the first time the title "Fly Me to the Moon" appeared on a record label. Felicia Sanders, the original singer of the song (best known for her vocal on the Percy Faith Orchestra's "Song From Moulin Rouge (Where Is Your Heart)"), finally got around to recording the song in 1959.
