Stars Show Support For Travolta Family at Palm Springs Film Festival

ET was at the Palm Springs Film Festival Tuesday night where many Hollywood stars showed their support for John Travolta after the recent death of his 16-year-old son Jett. ET's Mary Hart spoke with Clint Eastwood, Ron Howard, Dustin Hoffman, Sean Penn, Mira Sorvino, Frank Langella, and Taraji P. Hensen who offered their heartfelt messages to Travolta and his family during this difficult time. Jett Travolta, the son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston, died last Friday of a "seizure disorder," according to Bahamian officials.

From Leonardo DiCaprio to Clint Eastwood and Dustin Hoffman, some of Hollywood's most famous and acclaimed stars were honored Tuesday night at the Palm Springs International Film Festival's 2009 Awards Gala -- and ET's own Mary Hart was right in the middle of it all! Mary, in her sixth year as emcee, celebrated the Southern California black-tie event's 20th anniversary by helping to bestow such awards as the Rising Star Award to Dakota Fanning; the Desert Palm Achievement Award (Actor and Actress) to Sean Penn and Anne Hathaway; the Ensemble Performance Award to the cast of 'Revolutionary Road'; and the Career Achievement Award to 'Gran Torino' and 'Changeling' actor/filmmaker Eastwood. Other stars honored included 'Doubt' star Amy Adams, 'Frost/Nixon' director Ron Howard, 'Revolutionary Road' star Kathy Bates and 'Milk' director Gus Van Sant.
