"Simpsons Christmas Stories" is the ninth episode of The Simpsons' seventeenth season, which originally aired on December 18, 2005.++++++++++++++++++Plot The First Do’h-El When Reverend Lovejoy can not attend the Christmas sermon due to a horrible train wreck (on his train set), Flanders immediately takes over. However, he gets a paper cut and faints. Homer decides to lead the sermon and tells the story of the first Christmas, with Marge as Mary, Homer as Joseph, Lisa as the angel Gabriel, Mr. Burns as King Herod, and Bart as Baby Jesus. Mary tells Joseph that she is pregnant, even though she is a virgin. The angel Gabriel appears to them and explains that Mary is going to give birth to the Son of God. The three wise men (Dr. Hibbert, Principal Skinner, and Professor Frink) tell King Herod that they are going to give gold, frankincense, and myrrh (which Professor Frink is re-gifting) to the King of the Jews. When Herod thinks that the gifts are for him, the men explain to him that they are for the infant. Herod becomes angry and claims that he will kill the baby. At the Bethlehem Inn, the innkeeper (Moe) tells Mary and Joseph that he has plenty of rooms available with brand new carpeting. However, when Mary's water breaks, he forces them to stay in the barn. Mary successfully gives birth to the baby, and the three wise men, along with the two shepherds (Lenny and Carl) come to see Jesus. Joseph is upset because he is not Jesus's father, and when he drinks some wine, the baby turns it into water. When the infant keeps crying, Mary gives him to Joseph. He entertains him by hurting himself and one of the wise men (Skinner). When Baby Jesus finally falls asleep, Herod and his troops find the manger that they are staying in. They escape and trick the soldiers by putting Jesus' halo on a duck. On top of the hill, Joseph cuts down a pine tree, and as it rolls down, the soldiers get caught in it. "Mr. Spritz Goes to Washington" is the fourteenth episode from The Simpsons' 14th season.+++++++++++++++++++++++ Plot While watching a very late episode of The Three Stooges (where the violently bumbling trio are on the brink of senility), the Simpsons feel the ground shaking. They discover an airplane flying dangerously close to their house. They soon realize that the air traffic must have been redirected. Homer and Marge complain to an airport official, who says that the planes were redirected away from wildlife preserves to protect the animals; whereas, actually, they were redirected by the request of Mayor Quimby, so that he could entertain his lady friends in peace and quiet. The family tries to adjust to the massive noise, but are unable to cope and decide to move. After failing to sell the house to Apu and Ralph Wiggum, Homer and Marge complain to their congressman, Horace Wilcox, who has been Springfield’s representative since 1933. Horace seems genuinely moved by their predicament and ready to help them. Unfortunately, he suffers a heart attack and dies. Later, as they watch The Krusty the Clown Show, Bart gets the idea to have Krusty run for Congress. The family also thinks it would be a good idea. The next day, Bart visits Krusty (who at first mistakes him for a dying fan) and asks him to run for Congress. Krusty seems reluctant at first, but he soon likes to the idea, since he could change all the problems that the government has plagued him with, such as taxes and immigration (of his monkey). At the shady Republicans' meeting, he nominates himself as a candidate for Congress. The other members are supportive (except for Bob Dole who nominates himself). Krusty's campaign has a very bad start. He includes offensive jokes in his speeches and his opponent, John Armstrong, shows a sketch from Krusty's show making fun of the UN, in which he spoofs the "French Stench," the "Jamaican Hum-Drum" and San Francisco's homosexual community. "Duffless" is the sixteenth episode of The Simpsons' fourth season and originally aired on the Fox network on February 18, 1993. After getting arrested for drunk driving, Homer tries to remain sober, at Marge’s request. Meanwhile, Lisa attempts to prove that Bart is dumber than a hamster after he ruins her first science fair project. It was written by David M. Stern, and directed by Jim Reardon.Plot Bart is at the school science fair presenting a Go-Go Ray. He zaps all the teachers, resulting in them dancing uncontrollably. Principal Skinner declares "First Prize" to Bart over and over. Bart's dream fades out to Lisa saying into Bart's ear "First prize" again and again. At breakfast, Lisa shows the family her science fair project, a genetically engineered tomato that she hopes will cure world hunger. Bart's project is to study the effects of cigarette smoking on dogs; his "volunteer" is Santa's Little Helper. At the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, Homer ducks out of work early and accompanies Barney on a tour of the Duff brewery. After the tour, Homer refuses to let the exceptionally drunk Barney drive home and unsuccessfully tries to knock him out by repeatedly slamming his head in the car door. On their way out of the parking lot, their car is pulled over by Police Chief Wiggum, along with Eddie and Lou. They administer a field sobriety test to Homer, which he passes. But Barney, tells the police officers to give Homer the breathalyzer test, which he fails. Homer is arrested. His license is revoked and he must attend traffic school and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. At school, three days before the science fair, Lisa makes the mistake of leaving her super tomato under Bart's care for a moment. Bart takes the opportunity to hurl it at Skinner, while he is bent over tying his shoe. When Lisa sees what Bart has done with her project, she is furious.
