The diseases formal name is avian flu and and some people have gotten the disease, which can be hard to diagnose. It is usually necessary for doctors to take a swab from the patent's throat or nose and send it to a laboratory. Either the lab will find the virus or grow it. If the disease isn't diagnosed early, it may be necessary to use blood tests to detect it and it can take weeks to get a correct diagnoses. Fortunately, there is a vaccine which can protect against the disease. If needed the U.S. will distribute the vaccine.
