Gary Moore is one of the best rock and blues guitarists ever to come out of Ireland. Born in Belfast he moved to Dublin in the late 60’s joined a band called Skid Row and met Phil Lynott, who shortly after left to form Thin Lizzy. Moore stayed with Skid Row for three albums before joining Lynott briefly in Thin Lizzy. He then joined Colosseum II (which also featured Don Airey on keyboards) before going solo and having a huge hit with Parisenne Walkways, which featured Lynott on vocals.

The economically depressed city in Northwest Indiana is the birthplace of the Jackson family, which held its own memorial to the King of Pop. The free event drew thousands of fans, many of whom could not get a ticket or could not attend the memorial in Los Angeles. He may be known around the world as the King of Pop, but Gary, Indiana Mayor Rudy Clay says Michael Jackson is the city’s claim to fame. "You see Gary people, we believe that it is not where your physical body is, it is where your heart is," said Clay. "And the Jackson family and Michael's heart has been Gary, Indiana from the womb and I want to say to the people around the world that Michael Jackson put Gary, Indiana on the global map." Even civil rights leader Reverend Jesse Jackson admits that on the surface, Gary, Indiana seems an unlikely location for a tribute to one of the world's most popular musicians. "I've been asked by the media over and over again, why Gary? This is the origin. This is the place it all began," he said. 2300 Jackson Street is the address to the place where it all began for Michael Jackson. The small home where he grew up not far from downtown Gary is now a shrine to the late singer and his family. In the hours leading up to Gary's official memorial to it's most famous son, a steady stream of visitors took pictures and left mementos at his childhood home. Even though the music icon only visited his hometown once after achieving stardom, Michael Jackson and his musical family are fondly remembered in Gary. Influenced by the great music of their era, this husband and wife duo were baptized by bluegrass music and have made wonderful folk music ever since. Accompanied by Gary's tasteful Gallagher guitar and dobro, Roberta plays the American born Appalachian autoharp. With many recordings to their credit since 1976 , harmony singing is their signature. The Gordons have been bringing their music to audiences since the 1970's, when they began touring throughout the Midwest, playing clubs, fairs, festivals and colleges. Their band featured guitar, banjo, fiddle and upright bass with Gary on lead guitar, dobro and vocals and Roberta Gordon singing and playing the autoharp. During this time The Gordons recorded two albums, both of which received national radio airplay. Just as The Gordons had built a solid fan base through the Midwest, they amassed a sizable following in the Carolinas throughout the 1980s, playing festivals and fairs as well as making two acclaimed performances at the Mint Museum in Charlotte. By the late 1980s, they were working again in the midwest, and played a $150.00 per ticket show in Chicago at the Swiss Grand Hotel. In 1989, they recorded with dobro great Josh Graves and bluegrass fiddler Kenny Baker, from Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys. The resulting album, Old Time Radio Show, and live concert at Cincinnati's celebrated Old Time Music Hall were considered triumphs by critic and fan alike. The Gordons kicked off the '90s by releasing Wasn't Born To Follow, which also featured fiddle great Wade Ray. In 1995 they released Family Bible, and their unique sound began to receive national and international recognition.
