The Shepherd Short Film Trailer

The Shepherd is a short film (most likely around 20 minutes) written, directed, produced, etc. by two eighteen year-olds: John Merizalde and David Torcivia. Fresh out of high school around Atlanta, Georgia, we are preparing to study film and broadcast at college. This is our first serious attempt at a truly professional (in an indie way) film. The film (a psychological thriller) is shot on a Canon HV30 at 24p 1/48 with no external lens or adapters. Color correction, special effects, and editing was performed in Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects. Friends and family are used as actors in the film (the trailer has a cast of 3). This is a no budget project meaning we spent less than $80 on the entire film which should be released within a month. We are looking for exposure, comments, criticisms and the likes. Feel free to download and distribute the trailer and film once it is up.

Hank and Lucy featured in this short video. Used Canon HV30 and Pinnacle Studio Ultimate with Magic Bullet. Also used tripod upside down to get tracking shots and help steady things out. Shot entirely at 1080i/60 to capture detail and slow-mo effectively. Currently experimenting with 24p and putting another short together with an actual story line. This is my first video with the HV30 and I love it! Money well spent and I can’t wait to get more goodies for it! Feedback is always appreciated.

I have three HD (HDV) cameras, a Sony HDR-FX7, a Canon HV30, and a Sanyo HD700 (my usually with me pocketcam). I wanted to see how close they were in color so I'd know if I can shoot with them and edit in footage from one with the other.

My son and I decided to go on video trip after he got out from school on Friday 4/11/08. I packed up some tangerines, water, beef jerky, candy and hit the road. It was a rainy day and we were not sure if we would be able to get any good shots. When we arrived at the gardens it was drizzling rain, not enough to stop us though. We had a great time together spending well over 3 hours at the gardens. My son and I can't wait until the next video adventure happens!
