Dining out is fun, but choosing the right foods can be challenging for people trying to eat healthy. While most people can make nutritious choices when eating at home, they often let healthy eating habits slide when eating out and order items that are high in fat, calories, sodium and cholesterol. And it doesn’t help that many dishes offered at restaurants are prepared in a manner that makes them even higher in fat and calories than the same dish would be if it were prepared at home. However, despite these challenges, eating a healthy meal when dining out is still attainable. You just need to make sound nutritional choices and know what to order and what to avoid. I'm dedicating this show and 12 more to what foods to choose and what foods to avoid when dining out at certain types of restaurants. A new â€œBeing Healthy While Eating Outâ€ show will come out monthly for a year. Each episode will be released on the 4th Sunday of the month. This episode will focus on general tips that will help you to eat healthy no matter what cuisine you will be enjoying. First Lady Michelle Obama talks to school children about the importance of exercise and nutrition at the Healthy Kids Fair on the South Lawn at the White House. MRS. OBAMA: Well, hello! CHILDREN: Hello! MRS. OBAMA: It’s good to see everybody. Perfect weather, right? CHILDREN: Yes! MRS. OBAMA: Thank you so much. I am thrilled to have you all here today at the White House. And I also want to thank a few people before we start, not just the young people here who also — some of you brought your parents, so let's see the parents. Give the parents a round of applause. (Applause.) But in addition to all of you, we've got a few pretty special guests. We've got some talented chefs and nutritionists here to teach us how to make healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks. So I want to first want to introduce Koren Grieveson, who I just got to meet. Koren, where are you? There she is, over there. (Applause.) She's from my hometown, Chicago. (Applause.) Yay for Chicago. And then we have Todd Gray. Todd, where are you? Raise your hand. Todd is from my new hometown right here in Washington, D.C. (Applause.) MRS. OBAMA: Hey! (Applause.) Thank you. Thank you, all. Thank you so much. What a wonderfully warm welcome. I am just happy to be here. This is my first agency visit since we took a little break this summer, so this is the way to get back — started in the fall -- coming to HHS. I want to just thank Secretary Sebelius for that wonderful introduction. I think everyone can see that she hasn’t been giving -- given a very easy portfolio. (Laughter.) You know, when you think about just sort of all that she's had to deal with, and the grace and poise and intelligence that she's brought to her position, we are all just grateful to have her on our team leading us, guiding us. And she is indeed a dear, dear friend, and I want to thank her for all of the work that she's done -- between health insurance reform, preparing for H1N1, and all the other critical issues that she's laid out that HHS is working on that all of you are working on. I want to thank her and honor her for her work today. Let's give her a round of applause. (Applause.) But I am also here to thank and to honor all of you. It is something that I have enjoyed doing for the last nine and a half months that we've been in office, and that is to come around to the agencies, all the departments throughout Washington, and just to meet all of you and to make sure that you know, on behalf of the White House and our family, that we are so grateful for the work that you do. Jersey Shore Girl Punched (VIDEO): Snooki Hit On MTV Reality Show

MTV knew it was courting controversy with its new reality show Jersey Shore, which stars eight of the hottest, tannest, craziest Guidos who live and party together for a summer, but a whole new level of criticism is sure to come when they air the epsiode in which one of the stars, Snookie, gets punched in the face by a random man at a bar. (Click HERE for more information on the assailant, a New York gym teacher.) At the end of the episode tonight MTV shows a teaser clip of Snookie getting punched out and then lying on the floor of the bar. The next shot is of a man in handcuffs being escorted to a police car.MTV is attempting to defuse the growing storm by showing an anti-violence PSA after next week’s episode.Do you think it's inappropriate for MTV to have show the clip? Executive Producer, Kathy DiFiore’s educational docu-drama, "Surviving The Streets" provides a realistic view of teen-age urban life and choices that kids have to make when faced with gang violence. DiFiore has worked with inner city youth and has received Humanitarian awards from the NJ State Assembly, the Martin Luther King Jr. 2005 Award from the United Methodist Church of Newark, NJ and was honored with a White House visit with President Ronald Reagan in 1988. DiFiore, no stranger to controversy, says, "If we can stop one youth from joining a street gang, then we have succeeded with this film". Since mid 1998 Kathy has devoted much of her time to producing the evidence-based â€œThe Choice Gameâ€, a DVD/computer game created by Several Sources Shelters, Inc. to help young people make choices and learn the consequences of their choices. Executive Producer, DiFiore and Director, Adam Litwinski, were awarded the 2007 New York International Independent Film Festival award for Best Educational Film and Best Director of an Educational Film. Litwinski comments, "This was a challenging film because while we were providing hope and reasons for escaping gang violence, we were also portraying the darkest sides of it.â€ Associate Producer and veteran Music Producer, Jeff Billingsley CEO of Cobblestone Records adds "Our approach to this film was to make sure that we captured the realistic feel and pulse of the realities that youth face regarding gang involvement. The creation of the script, the many focus groups we held, all the way to the music we created for the film score accomplished this. Our production was a very detailed process to make our points to change kidÃ¢Â€Â™s lives now and in the future." The project began with a script that not only reflected the real world of inner city gang violence and its consequences but also gave the viewer an opportunity to view an alternative ending based on positive choices.
