SHAOLIN - TONG ZI GONG

SHAOLIN TONG-ZI-GONG – BUDDHIST YOGA of WARRIOR MONKS: Art of flexibility. The Tong-Zi-gong is the essence of the best exercises of Indian Yoga, Kung-Fu and Qi-gong, so it is considered the most mystical Shaolin Kung-Fu. It is, along with the Qi-gong, the inner discipline preferred by the Shaolin Masters. Flexibility is crucial, because it is more flexible, more resistant to pain and can best withstand the pain, the quicker you learn Kung-fu. Last millennium, the Shaolin Order has always imposed the Tong Zi-gong-like basic training for every child who wanted to become a Shaolin Monk. This is not wrong: the Tong-Zi-gong, in fact, is able to transform a poor student in a particularly gifted student who stands out among its peers, strong in body and spirit, qualities that keep it for all life. If you start the practice of Shaolin Kung-Fu without first practicing Tong-Zi-gong, the quality of the technique will decline at the age of 50 or 60 years maximum, but those who practice the Tong-Zi-gong had lost none of own agility and skill in Kung-Fu. The Shaolin Quan-Mi adds: “The Monk will look young and agile as a boy, although his hair is white like the feathers of a crane. His body will be soft like brocade, light as a swallow and tough as steel”. Shaolin Tong-Zi-gong includes external and internal exercises; exercises to improve flexibility; exercises to improve strength and exercises to improve posture. Till today, outside of China are very few schools that teach Shaolin systematically this ancient and valuable discipline. In Italy this task is entrusted to the Academy SHAOLIN MONKS ITALY / E-MAA by M ° Sri Rohininandana Das and M ° Radha Priya Dasi (first woman Master in the world to have officially presented Tong-Zi-Gong), in Milan. In this video M ° Radha Priya Dasi presents a Tao-Lu (shape) of Tong-Zi-Gong advanced level that exemplifies the capacity of this Shaolin discipline to make the body of a martial athlete strong and flexible at the same time. Furthermore, since there are not yet documents in western languages on the Tong-Zi-gong, M ° Sri Rohininandana Das has personally considered important to provide a faithful translation of the original manuscript Shaolin “Tong-zi-tu” in Italian, why Tong -zi-gong, as the entire Shaolin culture are worthy of being recognized and brought to light. M ° Sri Rohininandana das therefore published by Edizioni E-MAA-LULU and XENIA two books, the first ever in Italian dedicated to this important and still little known Shaolin discipline : “Shaolin Tong-ZI-GONG: Yoga Warrior Monks” (E-MAA/LULU’) and “The Tong-Zi-gong: Buddhist Yoga Shaolin: Art of flexibility” (XENIA). These two books are part of the FIRST COMPLETE AND SYSTEMATIC ENCYCLOPEDIA SHAOLIN MONKS ITALY (20 volumes, more audio and video) - with translation from the original texts- on history, philosophy, spirituality, psychology, martial internal / external technique and cultural back-ground of the Shaolin Warrior Monks. This complex and extensive research, documentation and testimony is given and in support of the Abbot of the Temple, the Venerable Shi-Yong-Xin and his mission to raise Shaolin to UNESCO CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HUMANITY.

VISUAL DHARMA 90 (2008) is published to benefit all beings and to plant the seeds of Enlightenment. THE VERSES OF PRAYER TO THE EIGHT NOBLE AUSPICIOUS ONES by MIPHAM RINPOCHE, recited by venerable AYANG RINPOCHE is well known Buddhist Prayer (tib. Phag-pa ta-shi gye-pä tsig-su che-pa shug-so). It is recited by Vajrayana Buddhists around the world. The author, venerable Mipham Rinpoche-Jampal Gyepai Dorje (1846-1912) was one of the great Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhist Masters. From his early years Mipham Jamyang Namgyal Gyamtso Rinpoche had excellent spiritual connections with Buddha Manjushri in the form of Vadisimha. He understood sutras, mantras and sciences and is often portrayed with symbols of the Sword of Manjushri and sacred text Prajnaparamita. His root guru (i.e. Lord of his enlightened family) was Khyentse Wangpo. Mipham Rinpoche wrote XXXII. Volumes of Dharma, including the Cycle of Mind in its natural state (tib. gnyug-sems skor). In his spiritual Testament he wrote : „Nowdays, if one speaks the truth, there is no one to listen. If one speaks falsely everyone holds it to be true. Therefore, I have not disclosed this to anyone before : I am no ordinary person. I am a bodhisattva who has taken birth by the power of his aspiration." (Dudjom Rinpoche: Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism -- History: Close lineages of the Treasures, pg. 878). Mipham Rinpoche had many visions of all surpassing realisation- rainbows, light rays and points and the manifestations of the bodies and realms of the buddhas. At his cremation on 29th day of 4th lunar month (1912) there were many rainbows and other wonderful signs. His wish was to be reborn in the Shambhala pure land in the north. Among Mipham Rinpoche´s disciples were : Lerab Lingpa (previous incarnation of Sogyal Rinpoche and of the late Khenpo Jigme Phuntsog Rinpoche), Dzogchen Tulku V, Adzom Drukpa (previous incarnation of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche) and others. VERSES OF PRAYER TO THE EIGHT NOBLE AUSPICIOUS ONES is Mipham Rinpoche´s pure vision Prayer -- or as he wrote -- it is „great wishfulfilling crystal in the lake of my mind". His Verses are recited every year at the great Nyingma prayer festival in Bodhgaya, India. During autumn 1996 Buddha Dharma in collaboration with Buddhists from Austria and esp. with Lobsang Norbu from Croatia invited ven. Ayang Rinpoche for the Bardo Teachings and Shitro Empowerment in Ljubljana, Slovenia . Verses of Prayer were translated and recited before each Teaching of ven. Ayang Rinpoche who is great Phowa master . Rinpoche is vegetarian and is residing in Kagyu monastery in South India but is also teaching the Dharma in Europe and USA (Amitabha Foundation). All wise people of this planet earth should regularly recite this wonderful Atiyoga/Dzogchen prayer for auspiciousness and wisdom awareness. One can recite it loudly in English or sing it in Tibetan. One can sing it in different ways (slowly, joyfully etc.) doing prostration whereever it is necessary (i.e. „I prostrate and pray that all may be auspicious for myself and others".) Practical instructions are published in next comment of the Verses of Prayer by Mipham Rinpoche.H.E.
AVALOKITESHVARA -- BUDDHA OF COMPASSION

Visual Dharma 96 AVALOKITESHVARA -- BUDDHA OF COMPASSION is published to benefit all beings. To EMBED and SPONSOR preparation of Visual Dharmas brings great positive energy for the benefactors and for the whole planet Earth. On the ungradual Buddhist path the Bodhisattvas are seeing as emanations of Buddhas or completely enlightened Beings. Avalokiteshvara (tib. Chenresig, chinese: Quan Yin-female form, vn.Quan Am) is one of three main Bodhisattvas along with Manjushri and Vajrapani -- Holder of the Vajra. Avalokitesvara is Bodhisattva from Pure land of Buddha Amitabha (tib. Dewa Chen). Avalokiteshvara has many forms ; the best known is 4-armed Chenresig (depicted in this Visual Dharma). Another form is 1000-armed Chenresig whose sadhana is practiced in Nyungne -- fasting retreat. His name means : He/She who is listening the cries of the world. His mantra OM MANI PADME HUM is included in many initiations & sadhanas with detailed visualisations, gestures (mudras) etc. Reverence to Him is mentioned in 25th Chapter of the Lotud sutra . All Bodhisattvas have also wrathful aspects. His wrathful aspect is Hayagriva. He represents strength of Chenresig. Many Bodhisattvas have connections with sacred places and mountains. Holy mountain of Manjushri is Wu Tai in China. Avalokiteshvara´s sacred place is Potalaka mountain on the S coast of India. Pú-tó mountain in China is dedicated to Quan Yin. Avatamsaka sutra refers to a mythical island of Avalokiteshvara. OM MANI PADME HUM mantra is engraved on many rocks, painted in temples or included as in this Visual Dharma. Statue represents padmapani, another form of Chenresig. Six syllable mantra OM MANI PADME HUM is very important : it closes the door to the suffering of being reborn in six realms of samsara. Detailed explanation : OM closes the door for rebirth in gods realms which comes from pride.Gods experience suffering of foreseeing one´s fall from the gods realms. MA closes the door of rebirth in asura/demigods realms which comes from jealousy. Asuras experience constant fighting. NI closes the door for rebirth in human realms which comes from desire. Humans experience birth, sickness, old age and death. PAD closes the door for rebirth in animal realm which comes from ignorance. Animals experience suffering of stupidity, preying upon one another, being killed by men for meat, skin...and being animals for burden. ME closes the door for rebirth in hungry ghosts realm which comes from greed. Hungry ghosts experinece hunger & thirst. HUM closes the door for rebirth in hell realms which comes from anger/hatred. Hell beings experinece suffering of cold & heat. Secret meaning of Chenresig mantra according to our research, teaching & practice : the Sound of Dharmata -- resounding empty luminosity is the base of all mantras. In 2. part there is Tibetan text Chenresig Ngänsong Kündröl. English texts : Refuge & Bodhicitta, Praises & Dedication are from this sadhana of Dagri Rinpoche`s close lineage which has many blessings. It combines the practice of Chenresig, Tara and Ekajati portrayed on his left & right side. Buddhist masters like Gyalwa Rinpoche- the Dalai Lama, Gyalwa Karmapa, Drikung Chetsang Rinpoche etc. are considered as emanations of Chenresig. This Visual Dharma is also dedicated for their Long Life and enlightened activities as taught by the Buddhas. PRACTICAL INSTRUCTIONS : 1.Until Enlightenment become a vegetarian. Detoxify your body, energy & mind with the help of Buddhist Wholesome Medicine. 2. Save lives of animals & support animals sheltes www.animal-spirit.at 3. Turn your attention inward & listen to the Self-arisen Sound of Dharmata. This is secter practice of Chenresig. SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY : 1.
