Doug (Kevin James) and Carrie (Leah Remini) realize they could have more fun with their friends spouses while out on a double date with Deacon (Victor Williams) and Kelly (guest star Merrin Dungey), until Kelly gets fed up with Doug. Meanwhile Arthur (Jerry Stiller) dispenses life advice at the Coffee Hut but is devastated when he learns that Gloria (guest star Amy Stiller) did the opposite of what he advised.

After Arthur (Jerry Stiller) starts a fire in the basement, Carrie (Leah Remini) tells Doug (Kevin James) that it might be time to move her father to a retirement home. Doug starts making plans to turn the basement into a killer media center, but discovers Arthurs past career and a tough sacrifice he made for Carrie. Spence (Patton Oswalt) finds a forgotten agreement between himself and Danny (Gary Valentine) which leads to a very interesting bedroom situation.

In order to repair their relationship, Doug (Kevin James) not only fools Arthur into thinking he actually got Carrie the job, but that he can smooth over all the embarrassing moments he caused her as a child.

Doug (Kevin James) is unhappy with his new delivery route, specifically one nearly naked man who reveals too much. Doug files a vicious dog complaint against the naked man, but confesses when he learns that Animal Control will put the dog to sleep. In order to make some extra cash Carrie (Leah Remini) tries her hand at dog walking. Clearly not cut out for the job she scams a nine-year old into walking the dogs for her. Meanwhile, Arthur (Jerry Stiller) tries to sell off a burial plot originally intended for his ex-wife.

Doug (Kevin James) shuns Deacon (Victor Williams) and bumps Danny (Gary Valentine) up to best-friend status after finding out Deacon has been playing racquetball with his grade school archenemy. Carrie (Leah Remini) is quick to defend her husband when she runs into Doug's adversary, that is, until she learns he is a district attorney looking for a new legal secretary.

Meanwhile, World-Ex drivers take over a favorite IPS hangout and Doug (Kevin James) secretly befriends one of the enemies. However, he soon finds out that relationship was all a cruel joke.
