Destine is een Nederlandse poppunk-band uit Tilburg. Destine kwam eind 2006 bij elkaar en bracht de EP A dozen dreams uit. In 2007 begon de band te touren door Nederland, Engeland, Wales, Duitsland, Frankrijk en Belgi. Een van de nummers van de debuut-EP, Last scene of a plane crash, was te horen in een promofilm voor de tv-serie Teachers op Comedy Central. Destine tourt vaak door door Nederland, Engeland, Wales, Duitsland, Frankrijk en Belgi als voorprogramma van andere bands. Zo stond de band in het voorprogramma van McFly, New Found Glory en Fall Out Boy. In december 2008 tekende Destine een contract bij het platenlabel Sony BMG en ging de band naar Orlando, Florida om met producer James Paul Wisner hun debuutalbum op te nemen. In mei 2009 verscheen van dit album de eerste single In your arms. Deze bereikte in Nederland de 77ste plaats in de Single Top 100. In augustus 2009 verscheen hun tweede single Stars, die Alarmschijf werd op Radio 538 en terechtkwam in de Nederlandse Top 40. Het album zal worden uitgebracht op 26 januari 2010, tijdens de eerste show van hun Headline Tour door Nederland. Only Seven Left en MakeBelieve zullen de gehele tour support-act zijn. In augustus 2009 gaf Destine een optreden op Lowlands. Naast haar eigen website beheert Destine ook een online tv-platform waarop de verrichtingen van de band te volgen zijn.

Harry Rodger Webb (Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, 14 oktober 1940), beter bekend als Sir Cliff Richard, is een Brits zanger en acteur. Cliff Richard werd geboren als Harry Rodger Webb in Lucknow in India, en koos zijn artiestennaam in 1958. Zijn eerste nummer Move It kwam op de tweede plaats terecht in de Engelse hitlijst. In 1999 scoorde hij zijn laatste nummer-1-hit in Engeland met The Millennium Prayer. Hij is de enige artiest die zowel in de jaren '50, '60, '70, '80, '90 en '00 in de Top 40 stond! Zijn carrire werd in de beginjaren genspireerd door Elvis Presley. Helmut Lotti (22 oktober 1969, Gent) is een Vlaams-Belgisch zanger die eerst bekend werd in het Vlaamse schlagermilieu, maar daarna een nationaal en zelfs internationaal fenomeen werd toen hij overschakelde op een meer klassiek repertoire. Als vertolker van operanummers en/of door orkest begeleide liedjes scoorde hij hits met onder meer "Tiritomba" en "Don't Cry Little Child" In 1988 duikt Helmut als Kevin Leach op in het regionale soundmix circuit. De trend van de zangwedstrijden waait over uit Nederland waar Henny Huisman met De Soundmixshow een televisietopper heeft bedacht die ook door Vlamingen wordt bekeken. Een jaar later neemt Helmut deel aan het programma en behaalt hij een tweede plaats in de grote finale. Zijn eerste drie singles Kom Nu, Bij Jou Alleen en Waarom Ik klimmen hoog in de Vlaamse hitlijsten, goed voor een (eerste) Gouden Oog als populairste zanger, de meest prestigieuze prijs in Vlaanderen. Al zijn albums halen minstens goud, inclusief Just For You, gevuld met teksten en muziek van eigen hand.

Ze wordt geassocieerd met de New Yorkse anti-folk scene. In 2001 bracht Spektor haar eerste album, 11:11 in eigen beheer uit. Een jaar later volgde Songs en in 2004 was daar Soviet Kitsch, dat in eerste instantie in eigen beheer werd uitgebracht, maar later werd opgepikt door platenmaatschappij Sire, die het opnieuw uitbracht. In 2006 kwam Begin to Hope uit, haar eerste door Sire geproduceerde album. In tegenstelling tot de meeste singer-songwriters zijn Spektor’s teksten niet autobiografisch van aard, maar gebaseerd op verhalen die ontspringen aan haar fantasie. Ze zijn doorspekt met intellectuele en literaire referenties, zoals een parafrase van Madame de Pompadour in Aprs Moi. Haar muziek kent invloeden van klassieke muziek, folk, Russische volksmuziek en hiphop. In haar vroege werk zijn ook invloeden van jazz en blues te horen. Spektor's stijl is enigszins ongewoon. Ze beatboxt midden in gevoelige ballads (Chemo Limo), slaat met een stok op een stoel bij wijze van percussie (Poor Little Rich Boy) en kan hele coupletten vullen met een enkele lettergreep die ze veelvuldig herhaalt (Carbon Monoxide). Ook maakt ze graag rare geluiden, zoals in het nummer (Lounge). Ze tuit haar lippen waardoor er trilling in het geluid ontstaat. Dit doet ze midden in het nummer, terwijl het een vrij gevoelige ballad is. In 2006 brengt ze het nummer Fidelity uit op single.
