Amy Heckerling repeats the successful formula of Look Who’s Talking in this sequel, with the addition of John Travolta singing "All Shook Up" to a group of nursery schoolers and Mel Brooks cast as the voice of a toilet. The film begins with James struggling to support his family. He stills wants to become an airline pilot, but in the meantime is driving a cab. His wife Molly (Kirstie Alley) is struggling too, as a busy accountant. The strain is showing on their marriage, but then Molly becomes pregnant again, giving birth to a daughter named Julie (voice of Roseanne Barr). When the new baby arrives back home, their son Mikey (voice of Bruce Willis) has to contend not only with the new intrusion but also with Mr. Potty (voice of Mel Brooks). ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

It’s Christmas time in L.A., and there's an employee party in progress on the 30th floor of the Nakatomi Corporation building. The revelry comes to a violent end when the partygoers are taken hostage by a group of terrorists headed by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), who plan to steal the 600 million dollars locked in Nakatomi's high-tech safe. In truth, Gruber and his henchmen are only pretending to be politically motivated to throw the authorities off track; also in truth, Gruber has no intention of allowing anyone to get out of the building alive. Meanwhile, New York cop John McClane (Bruce Willis) has come to L.A. to visit his estranged wife, Holly (Bonnie Bedelia), who happens to be one of the hostages. Disregarding the orders of the authorities surrounding the building, McClane, who fears nothing (except heights), takes on the villains, armed with one handgun and plenty of chutzpah. Until Die Hard came along, Bruce Willis was merely that wisecracking guy on Moonlighting. Television gets a bold new viewing in Spike Lee‘s Bamboozled. Lee‘s latest film is a blistering satire of network television‘s pitfalls and prejudices, a humorous look at how race, ratings and the pursuit of power lead to a television writer‘s stunning rise and tragic downfall. Damon Wayans stars as Pierre Delacroix, a hip, young, Harvard–educated writer who is the sole person of color working for an upstart network with floundering ratings. Despite several attempts, Delacroix has yet to see any of his concepts go into production. Now his boss, the ratings–hungry, culture–vulture Dunwitty (Michael Rapaport), issues him a searing ultimatum: come up with a hot, trend–setting, headline–making, urban hit or get fired. Feeling doomed, Delacroix decides to present the most outrageous, unbelievable farce of stereotypical comedy he can imagine – hearkening back to the old days of "black–face" minstrels with a variety show featuring Manray (Savion Glover), a homeless tap dancer, and his sidekick Womack (Tommy Davidson). Incredibly, Delacroix‘s spoof turns into a ratings bonanza, a cultural phenomenon that has the media pundits raving and audiences of all types howling. But, for Delacroix, the runaway success of "Mantan The New Millennium Minstrel Show" is the start of a rapid unraveling. Despite trying to defend his hit show, Delacroix comes under attack from all sides, not least if all from his own beautiful assistant Sloan Hopkins (Jada Pinkett Smith), who is falling for Manray, and her radical hip hop rapper brother Big Black.
