Carnival parade in Binche, Belgium 2009. There were hundreds of men dressed in costumes with ostrich feather hats and wooden shoes. As they walked down the parade route they threw thousands of blood oranges, pelting many of the observers. People try to catch the oranges but many get hit. While taking photos I got smacked in the middle of the forehead. The ground was littered with confetti and oranges. We took home 15 pounds of fruit. All the windows and doors on the parade route were covered in chicken wire to protect the glass and people inside.
