California Griz

The griz dominated the California landscape before Europeans arrived on the scene. Now, the only ones left are like phantoms flapping in the breeze on the state’s flag. The California grizzly was the largest of all grizzlies and was often seen travelling in groups of 10-20. The last California grizzly died in 1924.
