The Captain Christopher S. Cash United States Armed Forces Center dedication ceremony was performed Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Center in Winterville, North Carolina. The naming of the Armed Forces Center honors Capt. Cash, Company Commander, A Company, 1st Battalion, 120th Infantry, North Carolina National Guard, who was killed in action in a day long battle with insurgents during Operation Iraqi Freedom II, June 24, 2004 in Baqubah, Iraq. Capt. Cash was a resident of Winterville. The center property hosts state of the art training and maintenance facilities.
