Celtic Fantasy -- Marc van Delft -- the ecstatic final part, a joyful Jig. The 'Celtic Fantasy' opus 55 was written by Marc van Delft in 1995 and first performed by symphonic band 'Pinses Irene' -- Huizen, at 5-4-08. Conductor: Joop Boerstoel. The piece is inspired by English, Scottish, Irish and Celtic music. The beginning is forcefull in C minor. In the middle part we find a bagpipe-imitation, a homage to Scotland. The end part is a joyful Jig [the begin theme in major] in which many times the same theme is been repeated in a variation form, in which the music becomes more and more excited until it ands with an enormous apotheosis.
