Ceremony for the Vandoos

June 22, 2007 CPAC correspondent Carole Anne Guay brings viewers an in-depth two-hour special from the June 22nd ceremony for the Vandoos in Quebec City. Ahead of their Afghan-led mission, the Quebec Regiment will be honoured with a daylong celebration where families and soldiers unite and leaders show their gratitude to the men and women of Valcartier’s military base on the eve of their deployment. Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Quebec Premier Jean Charest are among the speakers who will be offering words of support. Hosted in a province that has traditionally been opposed to military missions, the celebrations will not be without protest, with the stage set for demonstrations by groups who object the assignment to the war-torn country.
