JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Within seconds of the explosion, the calls for help went out. "Caller: There's a big explosion out here on the Northside. 911 Dispatcher: Where on the Northside? Caller: At Faye and Alta. 911 Dispatcher: What kind of explosion? Caller: I can't tell from where I'm standing. All I can see is a big plume of smoke coming out over the trees." Rescue crews are on their way, but the calls don't stop. Those working next door to the T-2 Labs start calling and beg for rescue to arrive quickly. "Caller: There was an explosion two buildings down from us, and it's blown the side of our building out and power lines are down. 911 Dispatcher: Was it a transformer? Caller: Oh, oh, oh. 911 Dispatcher: What was it man? Caller: Sir, I don't know what it was. It was an explosion there's major damage out here sir. 911 Dispatcher: O.k. Caller: You need to get emergency some systems out here quickly." 911 dispatcher are overloaded. Calls continue to pour in and the descriptions of the scene are all different. "Caller: I'm out here on Black Hammock Island and I was outside and heard something that sounded like a bomb." There are also calls from those who didn't even see or feel the blast. One caller to 911 tells the dispatcher, he was on the phone with a friend who was near the chemical plant. A friend who was now begging for help. "Caller: He said to send EMS because nobody could survive what went on over there. It blew it to the ground."
