This dance portrays the pleasure in suffering from yearning for something/someone unreachable, a very common concept in Persian poetry and music. This piece was performed by Shahrzad Dance Academy (SDA), a California based Persian dance company in the U.S., founded by Shahrzad Khorsandi in 1996.
