Dyson DC18 Slim +Allergy

Dyson DC18 Slim + Allergy - this is probably my favourite Dyson in terms of appearance and function. I notice this has a number of similarities with the Airway uprights of the 20s and 30s; they both have rear wheels for stability which aren't used when vacuuming; they both have change-over valves which divert suction down the handle for 'above-floor' cleaning, and the floorhead on the Slim is VERY reminiscent of the one used on the Airway. The biggest difference between the Airway and the Slim is that Airway introduced disposable bags, and Dyson introduced a system which made them obsolete! The Slim has recently been discontinued in Britain in favour of the DC24. The DC24 is lighter and more compact, but isn't as powerful or as good a cleaner as the Slim, and the 'ball' system is inferior to the roller used on the Slim.
