Eurovision Song Contest 1968 (Spain - reprise)

Massiel sings the winning song for Spain, 'La La La', at the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest from the Royal Albert Hall in London on 06/04/68. This is her reprise performance of the song at the end of the show, when she sings the final chorus in English (something not allowed during the actual contest in those days). This is followed by the orchestra playing out to the closing credits.This was the first ESC to be available in colour, although virtually all European stations were still only transmitting in black & white at the time. So very few people would have actually seen the live transmission in colour. Even in the host country, the UK, the live transmission was only in B & W, as BBD1 had yet to go colour. However, a colour recording was shown the next day on BBD2 (the only colour channel), for the benefit of the handful of viewers who had bought one of the very expensive new colour TVs.
