Filmation's SUPERBOY - Krypto's Calamitous Caper!

Episode 3! Here’s another chapter of the classic and wonderful Superboy series that Filmation came out with in '66 along with the Superman shorts. The Adventures of Superman consisted of 2 Superman shorts with one Superboy short sandwiched inbetween them to make a half hour of fun and adventure for all kids to marvel at. And I'm sure they marveled at it quite a bit - it was the first time that original animated material was ever put directly on television on saturday morning. Filmation wasn't just the king of TV Cartoons - they were the first guys to do it on saturday morning. Lous Scheimer is renowned as a trailblazer in terms of ethnicity of characters and social storytelling, but he also broke new ground in syndication, being the first producer to deliver an original series directly to syndication in it's first run. That series was He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. 'Nuff said. It is worth noting that the individual playing Superboy and Clark Kent in this series went on to play Commissioner Gordon in the 1992-1998 Batman The Animated Series for Warner Brothers Animation!
