The holiday season is fast approaching, but the season of giving is already upon us. Minot’s Fairfield Inn is asking for your help in making this, a year to remember for those in need. Over the next several weeks, the hotel will serve as a drop-off point for two important charity drives. Non-perishable foods will be collected for underprivileged families to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals with all the trimmings. The Fairfield is also collecting gifts to be sent to U.S. troops during the holidays. Hotel GM, Diane Herrmann, says the items can be anything from phone cards to personal hygiene products, and even candy. She says drives like these are helpful, and she knows firsthand what they can do. (Diane Herrmann, Fairfield GM) "At some point in my life, I was kind of down where I needed that extra help throughout the holidays and stuff, and the Salvation Army and the food pantries were there to help me, so this is something that I would like to give back to the community, being they were there to help me out at some point in my life." If you'd like to contribute to the food or gift drives, you can drop off donations at the collection box in the Minot Fairfield Inn front lobby. The food drive runs through December 14th, and gifts will be collected through November 30th. Monetary donations are also acceptable.
