Jagriti Yatra - Empowering youth - Awakening Entre...

In 1997 a diverse group of young people from all classes and creeds across India embarked upon a self defining journey to experience India's present situation and discover its future. This journey was filmed and photographed and from these wonderful visual memories a short documentary was produced to inspire the present and future generation of young Indian's. It is hoped that the message carried forward from the 1997 Azad Bharat Rail Yatra and future Yatra's will embolden the youth of today's Indian to think laterally and evoke originality in the way the Indian economy is shaped; promoting sustainable growth, avoiding the environmental pit falls of merely mimicking the western model of industrialisation, encouraging social and economic entrepreneurship, building a knowledge based industry and establishing global institutions. This and much more is what may form some of the central themes of future Yatra we hope to organise. The following documentary was made in part to chronicle the events of the 1997 Yatra and also portray to those who watch it the sense of self discovery and inspiration which the young people who embarked upon this wonderful journey felt during and after their tour de force.
