Lessons from 26/11: Govt to modernise forces

The Government on Wednesday (November 11) floated a major Global tender for the purchase of small arms to strengthen internal security. A similar tender was floated by the government last month as well. The Government is trying to moderenise small arms being used by the central paramiltary forces and the state police forces. Paucity and ageing weaponery has been major constraint for security forces in taking on internal security challenges.
