Magicians Get Ready For Opener

The Minot High baseball team kicks off its season on Friday when the Magicians travel to Bismarck to take on the Demons in west region play. The Magicians are looking to defend their west region title from last year and know that the Demons will be a good test for the team right off the bat. Pete Stenberg, MHS baseball coach:We know each other well. Our kids play each other in football, basketball, hockey so we’re seeing them all the time. So we're expecting a great game to start off the season for us. We're gonna split pitchers. We're gonna throw three or four in game one and probably 2 or 3 in game two and get everybody a little work and see what we look like. The big question once again is how the bats come. We haven't been out and we haven't seen any live hitting so day one that's probably gonna be the big question mark along with next time we're out again but I think if our defense and pitching takes care of things, hitting will come. Gametime on Friday is at 4 p.m. in Bismarck.
