It’s a sport that requires lots of hand-eye coordination... energy... and a competitive partner. Now imagine learning how to play racquetball by one of the top players in the world! Here's Rocky Carson from Orange County, California. Playing racquetball is what he does for a living. He has won numerous national and world events... and is giving tips on how Bismarck athletes can improve their game... as well as opening players' eyes to the pro level. Rocky has been playing racquetball since he can remember and says people should try it because it's such a fun, active sport. (Rocky Carson) " If kids have fun they'll want to keep doing it, so when you introduce something to them you want to introduce it to them with excitement, you want them to be excited about it, you want them to finish it, thinking man I'm good, I've done something well, and if you can give them that sense of accomplishment it really helps them with their self esteem and they walk out of there with a smile." Local players say they've been working on getting a pro to demonstrate the game at their club for almost a year now. And players of all ages at the racquetball clinic were a little starstruck to play with him. (Darren Snow/Bismarck) "If you're a tennis player it's like bringing Nadal or Roger Federer, or if you're a golfer, it's like bringing Phil Mickelson, it's that level of talent that we have brought to town here." (Darren Snow/Bismarck) "Whether it's juniors or seniors or middle aged folks like myself, just to come out, have a little fun, it's a great workout, great cardio, in one hour's time you can build up a sweat, have some fun, pretty good time." You can watch Rocky, and other top racquetball athletes... at the International Racquetball Tournament website... IRTnetwork.com.
