Tibetan Monks in Lafayette: Description

Six Tibetan monks spent a week creating a sand mandala only to destroy it just minutes after its completion at Tippecanoe Arts Federation. This act goes along with the monks' Buddhist beliefs that material possessions are not permanent. The sand was collected and dumped into the Wabash River so that the energy of the monks' meticulous work goes to the river, animals and ocean.
